what happens when you take a Canadian out of Toronto and drop her in Tokyo?....she starts to understand the masses of Japanese tourists milling about, taking pictures of everything. perhaps it is the lack of a cartoon character on every sign, from parking lots to the post office to the sign that tells you to pick up your dog's poop, that they find so fascinating. They must marvel at the daring people who will cross the road even if they don't have a walk signal, as well as the number of people who wear sandals without socks....i understand their amazement everyday i spend in this town, as i get excited about new discoveries and strive to fit in. i'm meeting lots of great people, but i'm missing you folks back home too....
